This summer, Chelsea has once again opened their wallets in an effort to establish themselves as the dominant team in European football for many years to come.
In accordance with a story that was published on Globo Brazil, Chelsea has reached an agreement with the Brazilian club Gremio to acquire the services of Gabriel Mec, who is only 16 years old. According to reports, the agreement is going to be for a period of seven years, and Gabriel, who has not yet made it onto Gremio’s first team, will join the Blues in two years, when he will reach 18 years old.

Furthermore, the article adds that the agreement was reached on the previous Sunday, the 4th of August, with Chelsea agreeing to pay 15 million Euros for what they are receiving. These terms are comparable to those that they reached an agreement with Palmeiras for Estevao Willian, who will likewise not join the team until the summer of the following year, when he will turn 18 years old.

The formula for capturing the greatest South American talents at a very young age has been cracked by European teams, and Real Madrid has benefited from being the group that beat everyone else to the signing of players such as Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo. Additionally, they have just recently sealed the deal to acquire Endrick, and they anticipate that he will go on to become the next big thing in the world of football.

Because Chelsea does not want to fall behind, they are working to broaden their network in Brazil and throughout South America in general. The signing of Gabriel is the eighth player to be signed during this summer, following the announcements of Filip Jorgensen, Caleb Wiley, Renato Veiga, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Marc Guiu, Tosin Adarabioyo, Omari Kellyman, and Estêvão.

When Gabriel reaches the age of 18 and is eligible to go to Stamford Bridge in the summer of 2026, Chelsea will make certain that he undergoes his medical examination in Brazil before the clock begins to count towards that time. After reaching an agreement to sell midfielder Conor Gallagher to Atletico Madrid, Chelsea is also getting closer to signing Samu Omorodion from Atletico Madrid in a separate deal. This comes as Chelsea is also getting closer to signing his services. Based on information obtained by LondonWorld, Gallagher is scheduled to go to Madrid today in order to undertake his medical examination prior to signing a long-term contract with the capital of Spain.
