The details of the prospective transfer of midfielder Sander Berge have been disclosed, and Manchester United has received an approach for the signing of Antony, who is expected to be an uninspiring player in 2022.

The transfer fee for Antony was reportedly as high as £86 million, with some reports reporting that Manchester United paid upwards of £80 million for him two years ago. After helping the winger excel at Ajax, Erik ten Hag was able to persuade the chiefs of Manchester United to invest such a massive amount of money for him.

At Old Trafford, however, Antony has not been able to match the form he had while playing for Ajax. Even though he has played 82 games for Manchester United, the right-sided attacker has only managed to record 11 goals and five assists. He has been responsible for a number of dismal performances while wearing the Manchester United shirt.

Antony’s difficult time at Manchester United has given rise to a great deal of conjecture over Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s potential decision to sell him. The information that Ratcliffe and his INEOS team consider Antony’s capture to be an especially poor deal in terms of value for money has been confirmed to TEAMtalk by sources inside the organisation.

According to a report that was published by TEAMtalk on 29 July, Manchester United is prepared to sell Antony in order to raise funds for some of their own recruits.

The Red Devils are aware that the 24-year-old player’s value has significantly decreased since he moved to England, and as a result, they are willing to accept proposals that are only worth £25 million for him.

However, there have been very few people that have shown interest in Antony. The journalist Pete O’Rourke, on the other hand, thinks that Manchester United now have a real opportunity to sell the player.

Al-Nassr, a club from Saudi Arabia, has already communicated with representatives from Manchester United and formally expressed their interest in signing Antony.

Real Madrid’s transfer rumours: the latest on Antony, a Berge
Despite the fact that Al-Nassr already has Cristiano Ronaldo, a former top player for Manchester United, on their roster, they had been trying to entice Raphinha away from Barcelona. However, Raphinha has communicated to Al-Nassr that he is interested in remaining with Barca, which has resulted in the Saudi Pro League club shifting their focus to Antony.

Moreover, the flop for Manchester United will be less expensive to sign than Raphinha.

Despite the fact that it will be extremely frustrating for Manchester United to lose Antony at a loss of almost sixty million pounds, his departure will at least provide a slight boost to their transfer finances and leave room in the squad for a new player to join.

In the meantime, Ratcliffe has learnt the amount of money that he will need to put up in order to get Berge from Burnley.

Man United had previously identified Manuel Ugarte of Paris Saint-Germain as their top midfield target; however, they have been unable to reach an agreement with the champions of Ligue 1 in order to acquire his services.

In light of this, the recruitment chiefs at Manchester United have identified Berge, Youssouf Fofana of Monaco, and Martin Zubimendi, a star player for Real Sociedad, as potential alternative targets.

Burnley are aware of Manchester United’s interest in Berge, and they have set his price tag at thirty million pounds, according to the most recent claims released in the English press.

In light of the fact that Burnley only spent twelve million pounds to acquire the Norwegian player from Sheffield United in the summer of 2017, a trade at that price would result in a considerable profit for the club.

As part of their efforts to finalise Berge’s signing, Manchester United is reportedly planning to offer him a deal that will pay him £100,000 per week.
