Here we go” hat-trick from Fabrizio Romano as United agree deal to sign £40m and £15m Duo from Bayern Munich – officially confirmed as medical done

It’s rumoured that two agreements have been reached between Manchester United and Bayern Munich over their top transfer targets, Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui. This represents a significant advancement for United.
Manchester United’s summer transfer season has started slowly, and supporters are getting impatient with the team’s lack of acquisitions during Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s first transfer window in charge.
The only newcomers thus far are Joshua Zirkzee, who might make his Community Shield debut on Saturday, and Leny Yoro, who has been out of commission for three months.
With the announcement that United and Bayern Munich have struck a deal for the signing of defensive tandem Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui, that appears to be about to change very soon.
How much United will have to pay for De Ligt and Mazraoui
The news that United and Bayern Munich have finally reached an agreement for their top two transfer targets was first revealed by David Ornstein.
According to Ornstein of The Athletic, United has reached an agreement to recruit Dutch centre-back De Ligt for €45 million (£38.6 million), with a further €5 million (£4.2 million).
The 24-year-old is expected to sign a five-year contract, with the club having the option to extend it by an additional year, even though he still needs to finish a physical.
ADDITIONAL UNITED STORIES
United and Bayern have also reached a separate agreement for United to sign right-back Mazraoui for €15 million (£12.8 million) with bonuses of €5 million (£4.2 million).
The agreement is still subject on Aaron Wan-Bissaka quitting the team, it is noted. Fabrizio Romano has now said that he has decided to make the transition, and a £15 million fee has been agreed upon with West Ham.
Huge encouragement for Erik ten Hag
For Erik ten Hag, the news that United is gaining ground on De Ligt and Mazraoui could not have come at a better moment.
After injuries destroyed his back line last season, the manager has been eager to bolster his defence all summer.
Reuniting with two players he had such success with at Ajax, though, ought to improve the defence significantly and make a big impact.
