Manchester United has received a possible advantage before the FA Community Shield match against Manchester City on Saturday, as Pep Guardiola is expected to be missing four crucial players for the game.

According to the Evening Standard, Rodri, John Stones, Phil Foden, and Kyle Walker have not yet begun their pre-season training and are anticipated to not participate in the game.

All participants in the European Championship final last month, including Spain and England, were given an extended holiday by Manchester City when Spain emerged as the winners of the championship.

Manchester United did not need to be concerned about that matter. Additionally, Lisandro Martinez and Alejandro Garnacho, who were also participants in the Copa America final with Argentina and emerged victorious, have resumed training and may be included in the team to confront Manchester City.

They abstained from participating in the pre-season tour of the United States, but instead returned to the Carrington training camp, where they trained with notable players like as Bruno Fernandes and Joshua Zirkzee.

In addition to Kevin De Bruyne, several other players from Man City, such Jeremy Doku, Bernardo Silva, Manuel Akanji, Ruben Dias, Matheus Nunes, and Savinho, have not participated in any pre-season matches.

Nevertheless, due to the nature of the Community Shield, which is frequently referred to as a highly esteemed exhibition match, they should be considered as potential participants.

Thankfully, Ederson, Erling Haaland, and Rico Lewis are all eligible to play after experiencing minor problems during their pre-season tour. However, the absence of Rodri, Stones, Foden, and Walker will be seen as a setback.

Manchester United will be highly motivated and ready to take advantage of any opportunity, while manager Erik ten Hag will be eager for his team to start the 2024-25 season with a strong performance.

The Red Devils emerged victorious against their urban adversaries in the FA Cup final, which marked the conclusion of the previous season. They are optimistic about their prospects of outperforming them once more.
