According to sources who spoke to Football Insider, Man United is “confident” that agreements for Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui of Bayern Munich will be finalised by August 31.

Senior journalist Pete O’Rourke disclosed on the most recent episode of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast that the two acquisitions have extra complexities that have caused the process of bringing them to Old Trafford to be delayed.

Before they can finalise a deal for Mazraoui, Man United is hoping to unload Aaron Wan-Bissaka; however, according to Football Insider, his departure has encountered additional difficulties.

Bayern, hesitant to deplete their roster, is trying to find a replacement for De Ligt before approving his departure.

Although there is still work to be done on both contracts, sources indicate United is still optimistic that both players will sign before the transfer deadline.

Man United is working to finalise the deals for Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui.
Man United hopes to build on the disappointment of the previous campaign by closing the transfer window with a rush of new signings.

Ten Hag’s team is eager to become better this year after finishing the season in seventh position and only making it to Europe thanks to their FA Cup victory.

As a result, with the £88 million signings of Leny Yoro and Joshua Zirkzee, they are now ready to make a major transfer push.

The manager is still eager to bring back players from his Ajax team, and it looks like De Ligt and Mazraoui will be joining Antony, Andre Onana, and Lisandro Martinez at Old Trafford.

However, Bayern is hesitant to deplete their team after failing to win a trophy the previous season, which causes more delays in the player exit process.

Despite Yoro’s arrival, another new centre-back and a right-back have become priorities for United, who want to upgrade a defence that gave up 58 goals in the league the previous year.

In other news, this summer, Man United plans to trade Jadon Sancho permanently.
