Friday Morning Deal: Arsenal finally completes the signing of a 23-goal Premier League shooter. The paperwork was signed last night, and the news came out this morning.

As reported by Craig Hope in the Daily Mail, Arsenal wants to sign one of Newcastle United’s best players.

The Gunners have only brought in two outfielders this transfer window: Riccardo Calafiori and Mikel Merino.

The club wants to get a new player before the deadline on Friday, and it was recently said that Raheem Sterling of Chelsea could be a possibility.

Now, Hope says that Arsenal is interested in Anthony Gordon, but the 23-year-old is not expected to leave before the deadline.

The star player, who was born in Liverpool, is happy at Newcastle and is set to start talking about a better deal after the transfer market closes.

Even so, Gunners’ sports director Edu Gaspar is still a big fan of the English player. Arsenal might be able to get him again next summer.

Arsenal wants Gordon as a forward in the future.
The forward moved from Everton to Newcastle in January of last year. During the second part of the 2022–23 season, he only scored one goal in 16 games.

But he was a big surprise last season, when he played 48 games and scored 12 goals and set up 11 others. Out of those 35 games, 21 of them were in the Premier League and helped score goals.

For Newcastle, Gordon has become the first-choice player on the left side, but he has also shown in the past that he can play on the right side.

The Gunners may be interested in him now because he can play a lot of different positions, but the Magpies won’t let him go since they don’t have much time to find a good substitute.

Arsenal probably won’t be able to get a deal for Gordon, who is worth £51 million according to Transfermarkt. The same is true for Nico Williams. One day, he might be a forward target.

The Gunners might really try to sign him during the summer transfer window next year if he can do well for Newcastle for a second straight year.
