Manager of Manchester City, Pep Guardiola.

According to reports, Manchester City plans to pursue a Premier League wonderkid this summer in an effort to bolster their roster and once again contend for the title on all four fronts.

Savinho and Ilkay Gundogan are the only new players Manchester City has brought in thus far in summer window.

Pep Guardiola’s attacking options are severely limited by the loss of Julian Alvarez, and if Matheus Nunes signs with Atletico Madrid in the last few days of the transfer window, his midfield may become weaker.

Manchester City is eager to buy 19-year-old Evan Ferguson from Brighton this summer, according to Football Transfers. Ferguson has impressed the Premier League champions’ management.

According to the article, Ferguson would cost about £70 million, and Arsenal is reportedly interested in signing the Ireland international. However, City would rather agree to a loan arrangement than make a permanent move next summer.

Although Paul Barber, the CEO of Brighton, has acknowledged in the past that Ferguson will eventually depart the Seagulls, he made it clear that it won’t happen for at least another five years. In fact, Ferguson’s contract expires in 2029, and the estimated £70 million is far less than the nine-figure sum Brighton has previously stated, which includes Manchester United and Chelsea.

Ferguson has scored 12 goals in 47 games since making his Premier League debut in February 2022, including a hat-trick against Newcastle at the start of the previous campaign. He missed the beginning of the new season due to an ankle injury he suffered in March of this year, thus it is quite improbable that he would make a move during this window.

At £45 million, Transfermarkt assesses the striker.

FourFourTwo believes that Ferguson leaving Brighton this summer is improbable, especially given the suggested prices. His injury will undoubtedly influence which teams are interested in signing him, and the cost will undoubtedly act as a disincentive as a loan would not benefit Brighton.
