It was Erik ten Hag’s wish that Scott McTominay would stay at Manchester United. Instead, the defender is leaving for Napoli.

McTominay is set to finish his move to Napoli.
Has played for United since he was five years old.
Ten Hag wished he could stay at Old Trafford.
It is said that McTominay will sign a contract with the Serie A club soon, which will finish a move worth £25 million ($34 million). The Scotland international is already in Italy to finalise the deal.
McTominay started playing for United when he was five years old. He has spent his whole career with the Red Devils, playing 255 times for the first team. He helped the Old Trafford club a lot. With 10 goals in 43 games across all categories, he was tied for third-best scorer on the team last season. Ten Hag liked how long the 27-year-old had been with the club and would have liked to keep him.
He said at a news meeting on Friday, “I’m happy for him and for us, but it’s mixed feelings because I would have liked not to lose him.” “He has Manchester United in his veins.”

Afterward, Ten Hag said, “He was so important to our team. He played for Manchester United for over 22 years.” It’s too bad, though; those are the rules. When you sell something, you have to talk about the rules, and it goes without saying that local players, like school players, are worth more. It’s not the right thing to do, but it’s a good deal for everyone. Scott is okay with it. Of course, he’s a great player for Napoli and for us too.”
McTominay’s move to Napoli should be official soon, while Ten Hag and his current group of United stars get ready for their Premier League match against Liverpool at Old Trafford on Sunday.
