When Manchester United learns who their group stage opponents are this week, their Europa League adventure will formally begin.

The Europa League is changing this year in a big way. A team’s standing in the league standings will now decide whether they advance to the knockout stages, replacing the previous group stages with a league phase.

In an effort to place as high as possible in the league table, United and each other team will play eight league stage games—four at home and four away. The top eight teams will automatically move on to the round of 16, and the teams who place ninth through twenty-four go to the knockout play-off round.

The remaining teams will not be relegated to the Conference League; instead, they will be eliminated. Having said that, MEN Sport provides you with all the details you need to follow the draw.
