4-2-3-1: Ineos has put together a top-tier starting lineup for Ten Hag during this transfer window, with the arrival of £70 million striker

Finally, after two months of confusion, contradicting reports, and excitement over rumours, the transfer window is behind us.

At this point, everything is focused on on-pitch issues, and Erik ten Hag and his team have to step up now.

This time, however, there are no justifications allowed because the team off the pitch has excelled by precisely bolstering the team.

Additionally, Manchester United made almost £100 million in sales during that summer, which helped them buy players.

By the end of the window, it’s evident that Ineos has put together a top-tier XI for Ten Hag, assuming no strange injuries arise. This is how it seems.

(Note: Ten Hag won’t play without a striker after adding one during the window, hence the formation is 4-2-3-1)

The goalie, Andre Onana
After a revamp last year, this was one position they didn’t need to touch this summer, and that turned out to be the case. Onana overcame his growing pains at the close of the previous season and has continued his progress thus far this year.

His game will only get better with better players in front of him, which excites the supporters.

Zirkzee, Joshua, striker
This is not a criticism on Rasmus Hojlund; he is a player with boundless potential and a ceiling that may be higher than Zirkzee’s; rather, the Dutchman’s presence will allow Hojlund to play the role that he has been waiting for since his arrival: a spark plug off the bench.

With his deft layoffs that pull wingers into play, Zirkzee’s style of play has the ability to ignite an attack. He shown against Fulham that he can finish opportunities by timing his box crashes.

With Bruno Fernandes as a world-class finisher and two “score-first” inverted wingers, it makes sense for Zirkzee to start over Hojlund, who is more of an old-fashioned striker.

In the end, having a variety of choices allows Ten Hag to align the team with the opposition, and Ineos have given him just that.
