The final day of the summer transfer season proved to be quite dramatic for Manchester United.

Before announcing the acquisitions of Sekou Kone and Manuel Ugarte, the Red Devils recently disclosed that midfielder Scott McTominay has left for Napoli.

Jadon Sancho’s loan move to Chelsea has officially been approved by the team. According to Mike Keegan, the Blues will be required under the terms of the agreement to purchase him for £20-£25 million.

Sancho’s tenure at United has been difficult, but the administration has been able to release his salary. It appears that in order to join the Blues, the attacker took a wage cut.

The club’s supporters will nevertheless be unhappy with the big loss resulting from his transfer.

Prior to the deadline, the Red Devils were demanding £40 million for Sancho; nevertheless, accepting 50% of that amount is a poor business decision.

Though they may have obtained a larger transfer fee in the early stages of the window, the club has been able to reduce his £13 million yearly salary (basic).

Whatever the case, United may benefit from Sancho’s departure. Under manager Erik ten Hag, he was not included in the starting lineup for the first two league games and was out of favour.

Holding onto a disgruntled player would have strained relations among the group and drawn unwelcome public attention. The story of Sancho has finally come to an end for the club.

The Premier League derby at home against Liverpool on Sunday will now be United’s primary focus. The roster will not include Manuel Ugarte. By Friday’s 12:00 deadline, he had not registered.
