I want to respond to the rumors that have been going around in the media for the past few days regarding my ownership of Chelsea FC. I have always made decisions with the Club’s best interests in mind, as I have said previously. I have therefore decided to sell the club in the current circumstances because I think it is best for everyone involved—fans, staff, sponsors, and partners of the club.

The sale of the Club will take the proper course and not be expedited. I will not be requesting repayment of any loans. For me, this has always been about my unadulterated love for the game and Club rather than about business or money. In addition, I have given my group the task of establishing a nonprofit organization to which all net sales proceeds will be given. All victims of the war in Ukraine will benefit from the foundation. This entails contributing significantly to the victims’ immediate and urgent needs as well as helping with their long-term rehabilitation.I want you to know that I have made this decision after much thought, and I regret having to part ways with the Club in this way. That being said, I do think that this is best for the Club.I hope to be able to pay you all a personal farewell in person when I return to Stamford Bridge one last time. Being a member of Chelsea FC has been an incredible honor, and I’m proud of everything we have accomplished together.
