Arsenal defeated Paris Saint-Germain 2-0 at the Emirates on Tuesday night to earn their first victory of the 2024–25 Champions League.

The wet Emirates field shimmered beneath the lights as the eager home supporters relished their first night in Europe since Bayern Munich’s April visit. Both teams were able to execute elegant possession plays on a damp ground, but Arsenal’s physical strength over a little PSG player soon became evident.

The French champions ran out of steam quickly, though, and although Arsenal found it difficult to find an opening that would have sealed the win, they had little issue completing the match in the last stages.

David Raya (GK): 6.5 out of 10. Raya had another perfect game, even though he was spared the opportunity to pull off his heroics from Bergamo. He was only able to make a couple of saves, deftly stopping Lee Kang and Achraf Hakimi before halftime.

7.5/10 for Jurrien Timber (RB) The Dutchman was close to winning my Man of the Match award until he was taken off the field at halftime. Hopefully, there are no injuries. When playing against Bradley Barcola, who was playing well, Timber was outstanding in the first half.

William Saliba (CB): 8.5/10 – Later in the contest, Saliba was put to the test, but the French defender handled everything that PSG threw at him. It was especially remarkable because there was front-post clearance to deny Randal Kolo Muani.

Gabriel (CB): 8/10 – The fans praised Gabriel for a few brilliant defensive plays that he delivered. blocked shots without mercy as Arsenal established a more substantial block.

6/10 for Riccardo Calafiori (LB) All the Italian has to do is control his aggression a little. Even though there is a player there, the best will get the best of him. PSG did occasionally get a step up on him, but Calafiori also made a few really good defensive plays.
