Harry Maguire OUT of England squad as star handed recall after SEVEN YEARS

Lee Carsley will reveal his England team for the next UEFA Nations League matches against Greece and Finland, with Manchester United’s Maguire poised to miss out.

Harry Maguire is expected to be one of the high-profile absentees from Lee Carsley’s England team for the October international break, reports suggest.

The Manchester United player missed Euro 2024 because to a late injury recovery, but he was included to Carsley’s first squad in September. On this instance, however, his lack of playing time at club level is seen to be a reason in his exclusion.

Dominic Solanke is a member of Carsley’s squad. The Tottenham striker earned his first and only senior appearance against Brazil in 2017, but has made the cut after settling well in North London after a successful season with Bournemouth last season, and is anticipated to be named when the team is officially revealed at 2pm.

England will face Greece and Finland over the October break as they try to build on their strong start in the UEFA Nations League. The Three Lions have six points from their opening two games, having defeated Ireland away and Finland at home.

According to The Athletic, Maguire is one of several senior players who will be left out. Solanke’s club teammate James Maddison is also anticipated to play no role after shining in the weekend’s away triumph over Manchester United.

Jarrod Bowen is also set to miss the cut following a difficult start to the season with West Ham. Hammers captain Bowen has not scored since August, and Julen Lopetegui has failed to win any of his team’s previous five games in all competitions.

Kyle Walker is thought to be concerned about his future in the team after missing out in September. Fellow right-back Reece James, who has not played a minute for Chelsea this season as he recovers from injury, is unlikely to appear.Solanke was Bournemouth’s best scorer last season, with 19 league goals, but that wasn’t enough to get him into the Euros team. When he joined Tottenham, he spoke about his international goals.

“Everyone wants to play for their country, and I’m definitely looking to get back into it,” stated the former Chelsea and Liverpool player. “Was England part of the plan for my transfer? Not really. However, if you play for a club like Tottenham, it is much simpler to break into the squad. Tottenham is my major goal. But ideally, I’ll get into the England team.”

Solanke missed a month of action at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium due to an injury sustained early in his tenure there. However, he has scored in each of his previous three games, including league games against Brentford and Manchester United, as well as a Europa League goal against Qarabag.
