Everything that happened in the Liverpool dressing room at half-time after ‘not normal’ problem

Dominik Szoboszlai has disclosed the “little conversation” that enabled Liverpool to win the Champions League and continue their winning ways during the Arne Slot period.

Dominik Szoboszlai described how a candid conversation in the locker room after halftime enabled Liverpool to maintain their strong start to the campaign. Anfield defeated Bologna 2-0 on Wednesday night in the Champions League thanks to goals from Mohamed Salah and Alexis Mac Allister.

With the Reds having won eight of their first nine games of the season, Arne Slot has had the best start of any Liverpool manager in history.

But just before the half, Bologna struck the woodwork twice, and Alisson Becker had to make some excellent saves on both sides of the break before Slot’s team could pull away in the last quarter.

“We are very happy with the three points, that’s the most important thing,” Szoboszlai responded. We had a brief conversation in the locker room following the first half, and I believe we performed admirably (in the second half). The key is how we improve after what may have been a lackluster first half.

“They were playing man-to-man throughout the pitch, but we were ready and prepared for this. However, since it’s abnormal, we had to start playing the game and come up with some more ideas.

“Bologna is still playing at 1-0, and you need another one. However, we’re content with the 2-0.”

After a lackluster performance against Wolves on Saturday, Szoboszlai performed considerably better. In the Liverpool engine room, Mac Allister and man-of-the-match Ryan Gravenberch also impressed.

However, the Hungary international also mentioned how, as the calendar gets busier, the squad’s depth is starting to matter while praising his midfield teammates.

Szoboszlai told LFC TV, “I’ve said it before, I love to play with them.” “The squad as a whole has many qualities, not just the two. On its own, the midfield is insufficient.

Naturally, it’s a big part, but we need everyone on the team—from the bench to the starting lineup—because there will be tough moments and I believe we still have about 60 games left!

“On Wednesday, as you witnessed, the players who entered the game gave it their all, including Jots, Curtis, and Kostas. What matters most is that everyone be prepared. We’ve had an ideal start if you take away the Nottingham Forest match. We must keep playing this way because we are currently leading the Premier League.”
