Mohamed Salah’s Liverpool future is unknown, as the Egyptian now has less than a year on his deal, as Arne Slot’s side consider potential successors for the Anfield sensation.

Liverpool are expected to chase Borussia Dortmund star Karim Adeyemi while Mohamed Salah’s future at Anfield remains uncertain.

In a record-breaking performance against Bologna in the Champions League, the Reds’ star scored and assisted. The Egyptian’s contract expires in less than a year, and there is little sign of progress toward a new deal.

Arne Slot has a wealth of quality in his attacking positions, including Luis Diaz, Diogo Jota, Cody Gakpo, and Darwin Nunez, but Salah remains a talisman. In the event that the 32-year-old leaves, finding a suitable replacement will be a priority.

Dortmund winger Adeyemi has had a fantastic start to the season, scoring five goals and providing five assists in only eight games. The Germany international scored a triple trick against Celtic earlier this week and has three years remaining on his deal.

According to reports in Germany, Liverpool is willing to spend £42 million on the 22-year-old. Adeyemi joined Dortmund in 2022 for up to £32 million.

The Reds may need to be persuasive in any negotiations with the young forward. Adeyemi has confessed that he enjoys living at the Westfalenstadion. He stated, “I feel terrific here in Dortmund. “I was already a big fan as a little boy!”

It is unclear when Salah’s future will be settled. The former Chelsea and Roma winger has previously been linked with a transfer to the Saudi Professional League.

Salah claimed last month that the club had yet to talk a new deal with him, thus he was only focused on enjoying the remaining year of his contract.

“I just want to enjoy it and I don’t want to think about it,” he told me. “I feel free to play football, and we’ll see what happens next year.

“I came to the game today thinking it may be the last time. Nobody at the club has spoken to me about a new contract yet, so I’ll simply play this season and see what happens at the conclusion. It’s not up to me, but nobody has approached me regarding a deal with the club. “We’ll see.”

Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson has stated that they are fortunate to have Salah. “He’s a player that helps us a lot, sometimes it looks like he’s not in the game but suddenly a perfect touch, he puts the ball in the top corner,” he told me.

“That is not just his quality but also his strength. We are fortunate to have him, but we must always emphasize the team’s hard work and the fact that there is still much room for improvement, but they are good enough to win the game.”
