Since this is my team, I can’t lie. If Arteta starts him against Southampton TOMORROW, then he isn’t serious about winning the title. The only Arsenal player currently competing against the team is revealed by Arsenal legend Patrick Viera: Not Martinelli, not Partey

Arsenal is always trying to get better, as evidenced by the summer transfer market.

In the summer, Mikel Arteta and Edu Gaspar decided to split ways with a few players at the Emirates.

Academy grads Eddie Nketiah and Emile Smith Rowe, along with goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale, were among those that left.

To make sure his team met the high standards Arsenal is currently operating at, the manager adopted a merciless streak.

Gabriel Jesus might be tempted to be sold by Arsenal next summer.
Arteta is prepared to let go of guys who don’t really contribute to the team, and a number of current players could follow in his footsteps.

One player is Gabriel Jesus, who, along with fellow doubter Oleksandr Zinchenko, was welcomed to Arsenal in the summer of 2022.

The Gunners’ 2022–2023 title aspirations were greatly aided by the two former Manchester City players, but since then, the team’s performance appears to have improved even without them.

As a result, there are understandable concerns for Jesus’ and the Ukrainian’s futures. Journalist Charles Watts discussed these concerns on the Inside Arsenal podcast.

Do you believe Jesus might decide to leave the club sometime soon?

“I don’t think Arsenal would be insistent on standing in his way and blocking the move,” Watts stated in response to an offer.

The reporter went on to highlight Arteta’s unwavering desire to develop his team and how that would soon affect the front line.

“If you look at where Arsenal could make improvements to the squad, I believe that the striker position is one where that could happen.”

Mikel Arteta must choose between Gabriel Jesus and himself.
Jesus’ journey at Arsenal has not been easy, and his inability to advance has been largely down to injury.

The Brazilian’s claim to the starting lineup has waned as Arteta’s initiative has gained momentum because he isn’t a consistent or trustworthy scorer.

After witnessing Kai Havertz develop into the player Arteta desires to see leading the line, the former Man City striker has learned the hard way what happens when you perform below expectations.

To the harsh debate about whether the forward is still up to par to lead the line in a team that is fighting for the title, it might be argued that Jesus just doesn’t match the manager’s ever-evolving vision for his team.

Many would agree with Watts that Arsenal should be interested in moving for Jesus because the 27-year-old’s window of opportunity is closing.
