(4-3-3) vs (4-2-3-1) Unai Emery vs Ten Hag”, Predicted Man United XI vs Aston – as Unai Emery vows to revenge last season defeat

Predicted Man United starting lineup vs. Aston; Unai Emery promises to exact revenge for last season’s setback (4-3-3) vs. (4-2-3-1)
Erik ten Hag, the manager of Manchester United, is facing extreme pressure to secure a victory in his team’s Premier League matchup against Aston Villa at Villa Park on Sunday.
Shortly after Unai Emery’s team pulled off one of the biggest Champions League surprises to date by defeating Bayern Munich, the Red Devils let a two-goal lead go before rallying for a late point in a 3-3 Europa League tie with Porto on Thursday.
Only a few months after Ten Hag’s execution at Old Trafford, another humiliating loss to Man United might put an end to his career. Sir Jim Ratcliffe is rumored to be keeping a close eye on events at Villa Park this weekend.
When Man United blasted into a two-goal lead against Porto on Thursday night, things were looking up for the under pressure Dutchman. However, a brace from Samu Omorodion and a header from Pepe reversed the tide in favor of the Portuguese giants, and only Harry Maguire’s late header could save the match for the visitors.
Man United’s six-goal showdown in Portugal came after a 3-0 home loss to Tottenham Hotspur, who destroyed Ten Hag’s team after Bruno Fernandes was sent off in error—a decision that was corrected far too late. Man United had scored three goals for the second straight game.
Man United is now in 13th place in the Premier League table, having lost four games in a row across all competitions. They have only managed three wins from their first ten games of the season, a performance that many consider to be below par.
The fact that Man United has maintained consecutive clean sheets on the road against Southampton and Crystal Palace in the Premier League is a small consolation for the under-pressure Ten Hag; they haven’t done so since March 2021.
Speaking of shutouts, Unai Emery’s current squad of the previous continental champions made Bavarian lightning strike twice on Wednesday in their rematch of the 1982 European Cup final, which Villa won 1-0. Harry Kane and company were unable to match Aston Villa’s defensive prowess.
It took just nine minutes for Villa’s outstanding substitute, in typical Jhon Duran form, to make an impression. With Manuel Neuer in no man’s land, the Colombian expertly lifted the ball over the legendary German goalkeeper to send Villa Park into chaos.
With six wins from their past seven games across all competitions, Emery’s team is currently two for two in the Champions League this season. Their only loss came last weekend in a 2-2 tie with Ipswich Town in the top division.
The fifth-place hosts would be challenging Liverpool for the top spot right now if they hadn’t dropped two points at Portman Road. However, they haven’t collected 13 points from their first six games of a top-flight campaign since Martin O’Neill’s team did so in 2008–09.
But in Villa’s last four meetings with Man United, the Red Devils have triumphed. In February, Ten Hag’s team defeated the Lions 2-1 at Villa Park thanks to a late goal from Scott McTominay; a repeat performance on Sunday might buy the Dutchman a little more time.
Man United captain Fernando Fernandes was sent off the pitch in Porto due to a high boot, just a short time after his three-game Premier League ban and Tottenham red card were overturned. However, that suspension is limited to Europa League games.
The Portuguese playmaker is therefore good to go against Villa, which is more than can be said for Tyrell Malacia (knee), Leny Yoro (foot), and Luke Shaw (calf). Mason Mount, on the other hand, has to be evaluated after taking a knock against Spurs and cutting his head.
Kobbie Mainoo, a fellow midfielder, was also substituted off in that 3-0 loss and was not included in the matchday squad on Thursday. However, he did participate in training earlier this week and looks to have a strong chance of returning to action at Villa Park.
After playing maybe his finest forty-five minutes of the season on Thursday, Marcus Rashford was substituted off at halftime. Ten Hag clarified that this was done for rotation, meaning that Alejandro Garnacho and Marcus Rashford would now start on the wings in place of Amad Diallo.
Villa’s historic victory over Bayern, however, was not without consequence. In the first half, the unfortunate Jacob Ramsey had to be substituted owing to what appeared to be a groin problem, and near the hour mark, Amadou Onana had to be taken off the field because of a tight hamstring.
Both of the midfield players’ availability for Sunday are still unknown, and Leon Bailey, who came on for Ramsey in the second half, was removed from the game for fitness concerns rather than anything more sinister.
Boubacar Kamara (knee), John McGinn (thigh), and Tyrone Mings (knee) are still out of the running for Emery, who may now start Duran up front with Ollie Watkins in after Ramsey’s most recent blow.
Possible starting lineup for Aston Villa: Martinez; Rogers, Barkley, Tielemans, Philogene; Duran, Watkins; Konsa, Carlos, Torres, Digne
Possible starting lineup for Manchester United: Onana; Garnacho, Fernandes, Rashford; Zirkzee; Mazraoui, De Ligt, Maguire, Dalot; Mainoo, Ugarte
