According to Manchester United Youth, former Arsenal youth striker Chido Obi-Martin officially signed his Manchester United contract today. An announcement is now anticipated.

For Red Devils youth football transfer news, the site is a reliable source. Back in July, it was among the first to report that the Denmark youth international had decided to sign a contract with Manchester United.

After his schoolboy contract expired in July, Obi-Martin signed a personal terms agreement with the Red Devils and finished his physical at the Carrington training center, leaving the Gunners.

That being said, Man United and Arsenal began negotiations in early August to determine a compensation price for the youth phenom.

In 20 under-18 Premier League games for Arsenal in 2023–2024, Obi-Martin scored 32 goals and provided three assists, attracting the interest of both the Old Trafford club and other parties.

He departed as an academy player without a professional contract, therefore Arsenal had to pay an exit price for the trade to proceed. It appears that both teams have now agreed on a sum.

Following the agreement on a fee between Arsenal and Manchester United, there was a ratification process. When Obi-Martin reaches 17 in November, he will now look to sign a professional contract with the Red Devils.

The adolescent phenom will join their youth team, but it is widely expected that he will receive regular invites to first-team training sessions and will eventually make his senior debut.

Although the Red Devils provided him with much-needed reassurances, Obi-Martin departed Arsenal because he was not satisfied about their plans for him in terms of a definite pathway to senior team football.

With his enormous potential, one of the top academy youngsters in England may soon be playing in the Premier League after Man United bought him.
