Arsenal maintained their perfect start to the season with a 3-1 comeback victory over Southampton in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.

The Gunners dominated the first half of the game, but they lacked cutting edge in the final third, with only one attempt on target.

The Saints took an unexpected lead in the 55th minute thanks to Cameron Archer. This was a wake-up call for Mikel Arteta’s team, and they responded beautifully.

Kai Havertz leveled the score inside three minutes. Gabriel Martinelli made it 2-1 in the 68th minute with a spectacular side-foot volley from a Bukayo Saka cross.

Saka put the game out of reach with the club’s third goal before stoppage time.

Martinelli was clearly pleased with the outcome, and immediately after the game, he posted on Instagram: “Winning energy heading into the international break.”
