(4-3-3) Manchester United line up under Thomas Tuchel as Board set to finally announce the arrival of the German Tactician after the international break

(4-3-3) Following the international break, the board is expected to formally confirm the arrival of the German tactician, who plays for Manchester United under Thomas Tuchel.
According to reports, Manchester United is contemplating a massive acquisition of Thomas Tuchel as a “possible replacement” for the increasingly troubled Erik ten Hag.
After the team’s disappointing back-to-back draws against Porto and Aston Villa last week, the Manchester Evening News reports that Old Trafford executives are “lining up” a move for the German manager as the club’s terrible start to the season continues.
Even though neither game resulted in a loss, Ten Hag’s confidence was already declining after the team’s humiliating defeat to Tottenham Hotspur at Old Trafford the previous weekend. The appalling nature of both performances—the chaos against the Portuguese team and the nonexistent attacking threat in Birmingham—did little to improve things.
In the Premier League, the Red Devils are now ten points behind leaders Liverpool in 14th place. With a goal differential of minus three, only Southampton, who were just promoted, have scored fewer goals.
It is very similar to United’s disastrous season the previous year, when the team finished with similarly dismal league statistics; the only difference is that this time around, the Dutch manager won’t have to rely on an injury issue as an excuse.
After this historically bad season, INEOS, who took complete management of the Old Trafford football operation in February, conducted a thorough “end-of-season” study. It was intended, in part, to determine how much of the team’s subpar results might be directly attributed to Ten Hag and how much was due to a variety of outside circumstances.
During this period, a number of managers, including Tuchel, were being considered as potential successors in the event that the club opted to split ways with the 54-year-old coach.
Despite talks between Tuchel and the club, the former Chelsea manager was reportedly “of interest to United in the summer,” according to the Manchester Evening News. Nevertheless, an appointment never happened.
Although there are differing accounts about why the talks ended, the fact that United seems ready to resume their chase of the German implies that there is hope that these obstacles may be surmounted. Alternatively put, United is now so desperate that they might give up their place.
According to the source, “United admire other candidates,” but it would be challenging to pursue them because they are “already attached to clubs.” As a free agent, Tuchel is perceived as “immediately attainable” after leaving Bayern Munich at the end of the previous campaign.
After the decision to continue with the Dutchman and extend his contract by twelve months, it seems as though the Old Trafford hierarchy is reluctant to give up on Ten Hag less than two months into a new season.
However, considering that the Dutchman is in his third season at Old Trafford and that the team is primarily shaped by him, the club’s performances and, maybe more importantly, results have fallen terribly short of the necessary quality.
From this angle, it makes sense that Tuchel is once again being considered as a “potential replacement” because of his extensive background coaching in both the Premier League and at the highest levels of European football.
