Ruud van Nistelrooy and Erik ten Hag appeared to be engaged in a heated argument during Manchester United’s goalless draw with Aston Villa. The two Dutchmen were seen fighting verbally on the bench in a video that went viral on social media, with Ten Hag seeming particularly agitated as he spoke with the former PSV Eindhoven manager.

Fans have been wondering if the talk was in Dutch or English after seeing this tape, and Ten Hag appears to be quite unhappy as it ends. Ten Hag praised his team’s defensive tenacity to Match of the Day after they managed to secure a point despite another goalless game at Villa Park by playing well on defense. “We had that resilience, the whole season,” he remarked.

“We pushed for the win even though we were down to 10 points, and we gave up three against Tottenham. However, this is our fourth clean sheet overall.”

“This tells you we are in a good direction,” he continued. We’ve also been better at controlling possession and counterattack defense. However, we also need to get better in the last third.

“To start with, Rasmus [Hojlund] is coming back. He will assist us once he reaches his maximum speed. However, other participants must also accept accountability. I am really happy with Marcus Rashford’s performance; on two occasions, he was extremely close to scoring. All season long, [Alejandro] Garnacho has performed well. We need to improve in that area, but other players can also score, according to the Mirror.
