Man United receive fresh injury blow as statement issued after Aston Villa match

Prior to the Premier League’s international break, Manchester United were obliged to make two halftime substitutes during their goalless draw away at Aston Villa.

After suffering an injury during Manchester United’s 0-0 draw with Aston Villa, Noussair Mazraoui has withdrew from the Morocco team.

In a double substitution that also saw Matthijs de Ligt replace Harry Maguire, Victor Lindelof took the right-back’s place. Mazraoui, 26, did not return to the field for the second half. The summer acquisition had participated in every minute of the team’s preceding four games in all competitions.

He has started all seven Premier League games since moving from Bayern Munich in mid-August, with Diogo Dalot moving from the wings to left back. However, it is still unknown if Mazraoui would be able to play when United returns to Old Trafford later this month following the international break against Brentford.

Erik Ten Hag, the manager of United, gave an explanation of the withdrawals following the game on Sunday. According to him, “We have to take them off at half-time,” the BBC said. “Tomorrow, we have to see what the diagnosis is on it.”

We have to evaluate this, the manager said in his post-match interview with MUTV. I’m not sure what the problem is right now.

“I am aware of the problem, but I am unable to assess its severity at this time. We must evaluate this tomorrow, Monday, after which we will update you.”

The Royal Moroccan Football Federation was the source of the initial information. They verified this on Monday in an English-Arabic statement that read, “Youssef Belamri was called up to join the preparatory camp of the national team, to compensate for the absence of Noussair Mazraoui, who was unable to join the “Atlas Lions” after the injury he sustained yesterday with his team, Manchester United, England.”
