In light of the pressure to fire Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag, Wayne Rooney has turned down the chance to offer the manager any advise.

Despite Ratcliffe’s insistence that he has no influence over Ten Hag’s job at United, the Reds manager is under fire following a dismal start to the season. Rooney challenges that belief by stating that Ratcliffe will probably be heavily involved in any choices made.

The legendary player for United, Wayne Rooney, made the following statement regarding Ten Hag’s abilities: “Well, that’s obviously down to the football club owners to look at that.” Erik Ten Hag is undoubtedly an excellent manager. In addition to winning trophies at Manchester United, he has won awards everywhere he has gone.

Indeed, he is going through a trying time, and I believe he would say as much to himself. However, you’re hoping he can make a difference because all too frequently, managers get fired and then there’s a fresh start under a new boss.”

Rooney emphasized that United players must step up in the face of the team’s difficulties and made a suggestion that a decision is imminent. He continued, “I think it’s difficult and anyone would admit that Manchester United want to be challenging for titles, so to be 14th, I’m sure everyone at the club knows they need to improve on that,” declining to offer Ten Hag any advice on how to go better.

“I am aware that Erik Ten Hag is making every effort to make it better. Once more, like I mentioned throughout the previous season, players must perform better than they are. Over the past few years, there has been a noticeable shift in the players. All you want is for them to start challenging again.

“It is not my place to counsel Erik Ten Hag. In addition to managing Manchester United, he has extensive managerial experience. The most crucial thing to do during a difficult time is to buckle down, work hard, and make an effort to complete the fundamental tasks.

“I think they showed good spirit to pick up a point against Aston Villa, but the fans probably want to see a bit more and hopefully they can start doing that.”
