FINALLY: Man Utd summer signing incredibly tipped to LEAVE in January as three Euro giants circle

The Italian media has reported that Joshua Zirkzee, who has had a dismal start to his career at Old Trafford, may depart Manchester United as early as January.

Calciomercato claims that if Zirkzee’s problematic run of play continues, he may leave a Premier League team early and head back to Italy, just like Romelu Lukaku did. Lukaku played for Manchester United from 2017 to 2019, and before returning to Inter Milan on loan for the 2022–2023 season, he only played for Chelsea for one season.

Zirkzee, a striker from the Netherlands, has only scored once in his ten games for the Red Devils, therefore there may be a chance for an early “separation” between Man Utd and him.

Zirkzee made his Manchester United debut in July after moving from Bologna for £36.5 million (€43.5 million / US$47.8 million). The player scored the game’s winning goal late against Fulham, the team’s opening Premier League encounter.

However, Zirkzee has faced criticism in recent weeks for failing to build on his brief, game-changing performance.

According to the source, Roma, AC Milan, and Juventus are all monitoring the 23-year-old’s circumstances. If those three massive Italian teams learn that Man Utd is willing to let go of Zirkzee during the winter transfer window, they might move quickly.

Zirkzee was a target for Milan in the summer. The Rossoneri may soon have another chance to make a trade, but they missed out on him to Manchester United.

The transfer value of Joshua Zirkzee has decreased.
Zirkzee’s value has decreased since his summer transfer, and sources have confirmed to TEAMtalk transfer insider Rudy Galetti that the Man Utd leadership is upset and may consider loaning him out in the future.

It is also confirmed by TEAMtalk that Milan and Juventus are interested in the attacker. Since they had a terrific relationship while they were at Bologna, Thiago Motta would like to work with him again at Juventus.

Milan, on the other hand, has been keeping an eye on Zirkzee ever since they were disappointed not to get him in the summer and is hoping to sign him after the 2024–25 season for less money.

If Zirkzee were to depart Manchester United as early as 2025, many supporters would be stunned. The club’s executives, Sir Jim Ratcliffe, Jason Wilcox, and Dan Ashworth, recognize that improvements must be made quickly on the field in order to create a successful long-term project through the development of young players.

Zirkzee’s future is a subject of speculation as Paul Scholes recently criticized a number of the incoming Man Utd newcomers.

Having previously referred to Man Utd’s large expenditure as “ridiculous,” Scholes stated of the striker situation, “I just don’t think the quality is there, especially in forward areas.”

“Let’s go back to the best teams in the past; they can score goals. How many points have we earned? Five goals in seven matches.

You’re looking at 80 goals a season there because we had three or four forwards who could score 20 goals, and I just don’t see that in Manchester United’s forward line.

“Look, [Rasmus] Hojlund gets the job done, but will he score twenty goals for you? Not in my opinion.

“Zirkzee… who’s he? Who is he a No. 10 or No. 9? Will he score you 20 goals? Not in my opinion.

“I believe they are spending a great deal of money and are depending more on hope than on real, tested quality.”

Man Utd round-up: Rooney decision, Ten Hag sack latest
Not only is Zirkzee at Man Utd under pressure to succeed, but his manager Erik ten Hag could lose his job.

Reports regarding the Dutch coach’s future are contradictory. Senior Manchester United officials are reportedly set to meet today (Tuesday) in order to make a definitive decision over Ten Hag, with Thomas Tuchel emerging as the front-runner to take his place.

The Sun, however, claims that Ten Hag is “confident” in preserving his position despite Man Utd’s dismal performance and that he took a little vacation knowing that he would still be managing the Red Devils upon his return.

In the meantime, Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney has proposed that in order for the team to resume contending for Premier League crowns, they should have a stronger core of British players.

He remarked, “I think it’s been frustrating for everyone who wants Manchester United to do well.”

“Manchester United isn’t where they want to be in the Premier League; they are now ranked 14th. I believe that what United has done in the last few years is that they have tried to rebuild under new management by switching around their managers, but none of them have really clicked.

“I know Erik ten Hag, the seasoned manager, is working so hard to get things right.

“I believe that the football team’s culture is… Numerous international participants have been observed joining the game. I believe that a strong British player base has always been a key component of Manchester United’s identity, and I believe that this element may be slightly lacking now. These are players that can command the locker room and support the manager during trying times.

“So based on what I’ve observed over the last few years, I think that’s a big change, if you like, but we’re hoping Ten Hag can turn it around and get them back challenging.”
