Martin Zubimendi, a midfielder for Real Sociedad, has addressed his future with the club in the face of interest from Manchester City. Zubimendi turned down a trade to Liverpool during the summer transfer window.

In spite of rumors that Manchester City is interested in signing him, Real Sociedad’s Martin Zubimendi has stated once again that he is intent on staying with the club.

The Spain midfielder was a target of attention from clubs all throughout Europe, and it was generally anticipated that he would join Liverpool following his triumph with his national team in the Euro 2024 tournament. The 25-year-old player thought to have reached an agreement to transfer to Anfield, but in the end, he made the decision to stay in the Basque area without making the move.

The beginning of the season has been challenging for Real Sociedad, as they have only won two La Liga matches out of the nine matches they have played thus far. Zubimendi has been almost always there for the team, and Manchester City has taken notice of him as a result of his incredible performance.

After Rodri was declared out for the remainder of the season, Pep Guardiola’s team is mulling over the possibility of making a transfer for a defensive midfielder. Despite this, Zubimendi continues to primarily concentrate on remaining in San Sebastian.

“There are always rumors, but up until this point, I’ve always considered that staying at Real Sociedad is the best answer for me. “I still have a lot of things to contribute to this club, and I still want to grow and develop here,” she said.

Due to Rodri’s injury, Zubimendi has been elevated to a more prominent position for Spain in preparation for their matches against Denmark and Serbia. Luis de la Fuente, the manager of Los Rojos, has already pronounced his charge to be the second finest midfielder in the world, after only his wounded comrade.

“I don’t want to anticipate anything, there are two of us for that position and it’s a shame that it’s due to injury, especially when he’s a vital player, but a window has opened that we’ll have to make the most of,” Zubimendi remarked when asked about the circumstance. In a statement that he made earlier this month, Zubimendi responded to the accusation that he was unhappy with his choice to continue playing for Real Sociedad. He shared his ideas with the reporters, saying, “My philosophy is to always do what I feel.”

Things had been going great for me up to this point. It is a fact that there was a great deal of noise involved. A number of unsettling experiences occurred to me. It was the finest decision I could have made to remain here, and now I am content and at peace. It is true that the press is the source of a great deal of noise, but in the end, everything is much simpler than all of that.

“Of course I don’t regret it, I can’t think that after four or five games at the start of the season,” he stated in addition. I came to the conclusion that it was the best course of action, and the outcomes had no bearing on me. I made my decision from inside. If you want to see the potential that this squad possesses, all you have to do is watch us train. I am looking forward to having a successful season.
