Arsenal supporters are shocked when Arteta declares that a star player and fan favorite would not be included in his plans for this season, saying, “He is a good player but I don’t want to have anything to do with Him again.”

According to reports, Mikel Arteta no longer sees Arsenal defender Kieran Tierney as a long-term player, and Tierney is set to leave the team during the forthcoming January transfer window. Tierney was expected to leave Arsenal permanently during the summer after a lackluster loan stint at Real Sociedad.

A serious hamstring injury suffered during Scotland’s 1-1 draw with Switzerland in their Euro 2024 qualifying match, however, put an end to those intentions. Due to the injury, Tierney was unable to play and all transfer talks were put on hold.

Some may have forgotten that Tierney is still a member of the team despite the fact that he has since recovered from his injury and has not been in any of Arsenal’s matchday squads this season.

Renowned Arsenal reporter Charles Watts claims that Arteta no longer has the 27-year-old left back in his plans and that he will probably depart the team soon. According to Watts, “Kieran Tierney is NOT in Mikel Arteta’s plans anymore,” in an interview with CaughtOffside.

Watts made it clear that there is no ill will between Tierney and the team, but that Arsenal’s tactical philosophy has changed and that Tierney’s conventional left-back approach no longer works with Arteta’s system. After suffering a hamstring injury during the Euros, Tierney is still recovering and aiming to be fully fit.

Watts surmised that Tierney would have probably already negotiated a transfer to a new team if the injury hadn’t occurred. In order to get more playing time, he believes Tierney will look for a loan transfer in January. A permanent move is anticipated to come about in the summer.

Tierney is still adored by Arsenal supporters despite his recent injury troubles; many of them have voiced anger and sadness at this news. A fan expressed his sentiments on social media, writing, “It’s completely disrespectful for a player who was our best during difficult times.”

Even if some players seem to be treated better than others, I recognize that this is the way things are, even though it’s harsh. For the player and his fans, Tierney’s exit will signal the end of an important chapter.
