Manchester United’s winger Amad Diallo has withdrawn out of international duty, joining Alejandro Garnacho, Kobbie Mainoo, and Noussair Mazraoui.

Manchester United faced another blow as Amad Diallo was forced to withdraw from the Ivory Coast camp.

The winger has joined Alejandro Garnacho, Kobbie Mainoo, and Noussair Mazraoui in resigning from international duty. Garnacho withdrew from the Argentina team owing to a knee ailment.

“I had knee problems in the last two matches, and I won’t be able to be with the national team, but I hope to recover so I can be on the next date [against Paraguay and Peru in November],” he said via Instagram.

Mainoo and Mazraoui have also sustained injuries, and United has stated that all three players will remain at Carrington as a ‘precaution’. Amad will now rejoin them in Manchester, with the Ivorian Football Federation confirming that he has returned to United for “medical monitoring”.

The club has subsequently stated that he would miss the Ivory Coast’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Sierra Leone due to sickness, not injury. United manager Erik ten Hag has received some good news in terms of player availability, with Leny Yoro approaching a comeback from injury.

Yoro, who arrived from Lille for £52 million earlier this summer, had a foot injury in pre-season and is yet to return to play. However, he has accelerated his recovery and posted a video on Instagram of himself jogging on a treadmill with the caption: “On the way back.”

When asked for an update on Yoro’s recuperation last month, Ten Hag said, “Yes, he is doing very well.” It is really encouraging that his rehabilitation is doing well, and I anticipate seeing him soon, but by soon, I mean that he is now in the proper planning phase.

“He is in the right spot and he will return as soon as possible into the squad and then the team training.” It comes at a critical moment for Ten Hag, as United are off to their worst start to a Premier League season in history.

The Red Devils have only eight points from seven league games so far, but Ten Hag is convinced he still has the support of club management. “I don’t have any idea that is different because they should have told me,” the man replied.

“We speak really openly and transparently. I would say we communicate every day, so I anticipate to speak with them. We understand what we’re going through; it’s a long process. We’ve come through two really difficult away games. This is a team; we demonstrated our belief and faith.
