Manchester United’s Rasmus Hojlund has begged caretaker Denmark manager Lars Knudsen not to give him 90 minutes against Spain on international duty.

That’s because the Red Devils striker is concerned about sustaining another hamstring injury, which has curtailed his playing time.

Hojlund missed United’s first four Premier League games of the season due to injury, and he has only made five appearances in all competitions in 2024-25.

The 21-year-old is presently with the Danish squad as they prepare for their Nations League match against European champions Spain on Saturday.

Speaking prior of the match, Hojlund stated: “There is no point in rushing things and risking another injury.”

‘My body feels better again. I may be prepared to play 90 minutes, but if I also use my intellect, I do not think 90 minutes against Spain on Saturday is a smart idea.

Hojlund has established himself as a key player for his country, scoring seven goals in 18 appearances.

However, he looks to want to focus on getting healthy for United, who return to play on October 19 at Old Trafford against Brentford.

United have had a rough start to the season, winning only two of their first seven Premier League games.Ten Hag is under enormous pressure, and rumors have circulated that the Red Devils’ manager might be fired shortly.

Erik ten Hag’s injuries are becoming more serious.

Meanwhile, it was revealed on Thursday that United may have yet another injury problem, with Lisandro Martinez apparently suffering a knock.

United are already monitoring a number of injury concerns that have arisen during the international break. Martinez’s countryman Alejandro Garnacho withdrew from the Argentina team on Monday owing to a knee injury, while Kobbie Mainoo also withdrew from the England squad.

Another early returnee to Manchester is Amad Diallo, who left the Ivory Coast camp on Wednesday.
