In reaction to the packed football schedule, Erling Haaland has joined Manchester City teammate Rodri in calling for fewer games played during the season.

The Manchester City sensation Erling Haaland has voiced his concerns about the demanding football schedule, implying that he would support players who have been holding out for a strike due to growing dissatisfaction among elite players.

Haaland’s colleague Rodri revealed last month that star players had considered going on strike if their demands for less work were not fulfilled. Since then, Rodri has had a knee injury that has kept him out of the season.

As the discussion heats up, Haaland has sent a warning to the football authorities about the harsh nature of the current footballing schedule. Haaland, who started the season with a renewed sense of drive after his disappointment at not making it to Euro 2024, underlines the value of taking enough breaks between tournaments.

With the Champions League in full swing and the new FIFA Club World Cup just around the corner, Haaland has sent a warning to FIFA, UEFA, and the Premier League about the vital necessity of player rest and recovery.

Haaland said, “It was very positive [taking a summer break], and you can see that on the pitch,” in advance of Norway’s next game against Slovenia. I have a great deal more energy, on and off the field.

“My thoughts are calmer now.” Regardless of the nature of the work, taking a holiday from one’s career is becoming more and more important, especially if there is a major physical toll.
