“Arteta didn’t allow me to address our fans but this is now the right and perfect time for me to speak, because i feel Arsenal fans deserve an explanation”- Smith-Rowe finally reveals the hidden truth why he left Arsenal to join Fulham

Emile Smith Rowe is poised to have his most productive season as a senior player, despite having left his hometown club Arsenal over the summer. At the same time, Mikel Arteta’s team is deficient in midfield, which is why it is ironic that one of their own is thriving in southwest London.

Smith Rowe, who transferred to Fulham after two seasons of footballing obscurity, has already scored as many goals as any of his former teammates this season (despite having played an additional match at the time of writing). This move earned the Gunners £34 million. Two goals and one assist in his initial five league appearances for Marco Silva’s team have been a successful debut at Craven Cottage.

His last goal was scored 31 games ago for Arsenal, and his last two were scored 38 games ago. There is a possibility that there is some remorse within the camp regarding the fact that Martin Odegaard was unable to reach his full potential at the Emirates Stadium, as he is currently sidelined.

Arteta and Smith Rowe were unfortunate to find that their relationship was not meant to be. His time in north London was shortened by injuries and poor form, as an increasing number of competitors arrived to vie for starting positions.

In the final two years of Smith Rowe’s tenure at Arsenal, Kai Havertz, Leandro Trossard, and Raheem Sterling, as well as Mikel Merino, all arrived. Odegaard was previously signed to enhance the quality of the attacking areas. However, there has been no turning back.

Smith Rowe played a critical role in Fulham’s success (and, at times, their failure) against Newcastle on Saturday. The 24-year-old struck the bar with an exceptional strike after gaining possession of the ball centrally and sprinting towards the box. He required minimal backlift to execute the shot.

After a neat poked effort, he then went one step further by taking a sharp touch inside the box and forcing the ball underneath Nick Pope. Smith Rowe had a successful day, despite the fact that he was fortunate not to be penalised for failing to capitalise on Bernd Leno’s subpar goal kick.

Arsenal may also experience future consequences. The Gunners can gain from Smith Rowe’s success in the future after they inserted a 10% sell-on clause in his contract.

football.london understands that there is no buyback option in the deal though. Should Smith Rowe get to the levels that he promised in the Hale End academy then this could come back to bite Arsenal, but for now they can be happy in the success of a former player with the knowledge that a big move in years to come would land them a significant sum as compensation.
