Rio Ferdinand took aim at Chelsea’s Noni Madueke

After being substituted during Chelsea’s tie with Arsenal, Noni Madueke marched straight down the tunnel in exasperation, prompting Rio Ferdinand to yell at him.

Noni Madueke should have received a two-week fine for storming down the tunnel, according to Rio Ferdinand.

The Chelsea winger chose not to sit on the bench because he was furious at being sent off during Sunday’s draw with Arsenal. Rather, the recently capped England player expressed his disgust by walking directly down the tunnel.

Ferdinand maintains that the optics serve no purpose, and his display of passion made his feelings evident to everyone in attendance. Speaking of his own time at Manchester United, he asserted that none of the younger players he played with would have ever behaved in such a manner.

The former United player mentioned Chelsea’s team’s abundance of young players and lack of seasoned professionals to guide them.

“You think (Danny) Welbeck, Tom Cleverly, or Nani are going to storm off the pitch and throw their dummy out?” he asked on Rio Ferdinand Presents. Additionally, it is rude to your teammates. The team is young. Who are the seasoned players who will in and declare, “Woah, that is not acceptable here?”

“And I understand his thinking but at the same time, I don’t understand why you are doing that.”

Enzo Maresca acknowledged that no one will be pleased to be taken off, but he was prepared to defend his player, who has had a fantastic start to the season. “The problem is when you change a player, they are never happy,” he stated.

As he nearly defended his behaviour, Ferdinand was astounded that the Chelsea manager decided to divert attention from Madueke’s outburst. He made a joke about how he could never be a manager because he would say the correct things in front of the media but end up getting fined instead.

“That’s where the manager comes in,” he continued. I believe the manager is crazy for defending him. I couldn’t come out and play the game where you say, “Yeah, he was in the wrong, but [he’s a good kid],” which is why I couldn’t be in there [as a manager]. The fine is for two weeks.
