Ruben Amorim’s “standout” characteristics have been emphasised by Bruno Fernandes as the former Sporting CP partnership prepares to start working together at Manchester United.

Extolled praise for the former Sporting boss Amorim has already assumed leadership at Carrington Fernandes feels he is the ideal candidate to lead

WHAT OCCURRED?
After two and a half years, during which time United’s Premier League performance hit all-time lows, Erik ten Hag’s tenure came to an end. Additionally, the Dutchman was stripped of his duties after a 2-1 loss to West Ham. Ruud van Nistelrooy, a former United striker who filled in temporarily, was able to somewhat reverse the trend with three victories and a tie to ease the transition period prior to Amorim’s hiring.

Amorim left the Lisbon club for United before the manager took charge, therefore Fernandes and Amorim never shared a dressing room at Sporting. The midfielder, however, has closely watched Amorim’s accomplishments from a distance and feels that his rapport with players distinguishes him as a coach who can motivate players to succeed.

FERNANDES’S COMMENTS
Fernandes stated in an interview with MUTV: “His relationship with players is what really sticks out to me. You can tell he’s a great guy who gives his all to the players when you see how they treat him, say goodbye to him, and make him feel like a part of the team when the manager leaves your club in the middle of the season with all the things they still have to win.”

Fernandes went on to say that Amorim’s impact is especially noticeable in the way he protects players from criticism and helps them overcome obstacles—qualities Fernandes thinks Amorim will bring to Old Trafford.

“I have seen many moments where players were struggling and he goes to the press conference to defend his players to give them the best opportunity to shine,” he stated. “He had a really young team so he needed to do that, hopefully, he can do the same with us.”

FUTURE PLANS FOR AMORIM?
Amorim’s emphasis on inspiring his players may be crucial in changing United’s mindset in light of their recent setbacks. The team’s away Premier League encounter against Ipswich Town at Portman Road on November 24 will be his first official game as head coach.
