Ruud van Nistelrooy, the legendary Manchester United player, has addressed his fans on social media for the first time since his departure from the club earlier this week, which was precipitated by the advent of Ruben Amorim.

In a heartfelt departure message, Ruud van Nistelrooy describes his tenure as interim head coach of Manchester United as “an honour.”

The United legend was terminated earlier this week after supervising four games following Erik ten Hag’s departure, following the entrance of Ruben Amorim.

The Dutchman has now spoken out on social media regarding his departure. “To the backroom staff, the players, and the fans at Manchester United Football Club,” he wrote in a statement on X. I am deeply appreciative of the enormous support and dedication you have shown.

“I will always treasure the memories we have shared together, and it has been a privilege and honour to represent the club as a player, coach, and manager.”

“@ManUtd will always hold a special place in my heart, and I pray that there will be many more golden eras at Old Trafford in the near future. This is not only because I desire the club to succeed, but also because you all deserve it!” Ruud, I wish you the best of luck and take care.

Van Nistelrooy concluded his tenure at Old Trafford with a 3-0 victory over Leicester City. He had previously won three of his four matches in command.

After the game, there was speculation that Van Nistelrooy, who had only recently returned to the club as an assistant coach to Ten Hag in the summer, was bidding supporters dieu. Subsequently, it was verified that the former manager of PSV Eindhoven would not be included in Amorim’s revamped coaching staff.

The Red Devils issued a statement on Monday afternoon that verified the departure of Ruud van Nistelrooy: “Manchester United can confirm that Ruud van Nistelrooy has left the club.” Ruud returned to the club in the summer and has served as interim head coach for the past four matches.

“Ruud is and will always be a Manchester United legend.” We are appreciative of his dedication and the manner in which he has approached his responsibilities during his tenure with the club. He will always be warmly welcomed at Old Trafford.

“Rene Hake, Jelle ten Rouwelaar, and Pieter Morel have also departed, and we extend our best wishes to them for the future.” The complete managerial composition of the men’s first team will be confirmed at a later date.
