Ruben Amorim Moved to Tears as Three Key Players Injured Ahead of PAOK Clash

As a result of injuries sustained by three of Manchester United’s most important players—Harry Amass, Jack Fletcher, and Ethan Wheatley—during a training session on Wednesday morning, the new manager of Manchester United, Ruben Amorim, was allegedly driven to tears. In the next Europa League encounter against PAOK that will take place at Old Trafford on Thursday, these players were anticipated to play key parts in significant roles.

All three were noticeably absent from the open training session that the team had at Carrington, and Manchester United later announced that they would not be included in the squad for the encounter. Instead, Amass, Fletcher, and Wheatley have been selected to be part of the United Under-19 team’s UEFA Youth League roster. This squad will compete against FK Zalgiris in the second leg of their second-round matchup. For the first leg, which took place a month ago, United won by a score of 5-2.

Amass and Wheatley, who both came in as substitutes during United’s most recent Europa League match against Fenerbahce, are anticipated to play for the junior squad tonight. While this is going on, Fletcher has also been deployed as a substitute in recent matches against Chelsea and Leicester City.

In the absence of these players, only Daniel Armer and Jack Kingdon from the young squad participated in the media session that the senior team held on Wednesday. This further indicates that Amass, Fletcher, and Wheatley will not be featured in the match against PAOK.

It is possible that Amass, who has not yet made his debut with the senior team, will play left back for the Under-19s. Wheatley, on the other hand, will join the front line alongside Gabriele Biancheri, Bendito Mantato, and Victor Musa. It is possible that Sekou Kone, who was signed during the summer and made his debut for the Under-21s just last weekend, will also make his debut with the young squad in Europe. The UEFA Youth League match that will take place tonight will not feature Chido Obi-Martin, who is another fresh addition to the team.

In spite of the failures, Amorim’s impassioned reaction exemplifies the strain and high expectations that are around the squad as they get ready for a significant match in Europe.
