With Ruben Amorim currently in command at Old Trafford, Manchester United legend Gary Pallister has urged Red Devils managers to splash the match on Swedish superstar Viktor Gyokeres.

Manchester United executives have been pushed by Gary Pallister to spend big money on Swedish prodigy Victor Gyokeres.

Gyokeres’ incredible feats with the Portuguese champions have made him the most sought-after prospect in Europe. This season, Gyokeres has scored 23 goals in just 16 games.

The 26-year-old’s deal has a €100 million release clause. However, Pallister thinks he would be a big success at Old Trafford, and United will be among the favourites to sign him next summer.

“I believe Manchester United will continue to look at that center-forward position as an area they can strengthen,” the United veteran told TG Casino. Joshua Zirkzee and Rasmus Hojlund have both been there, although Hojlund is still learning, and I’m not sure if Zirkzee is a true number nine.

“Ultimately, their center-forwards aren’t scoring enough goals, and this has been a problem lately. It would be interesting to see if Ruben Amorim can solve that issue in January and if he can bring Sporting’s Viktor Gyökeres in with him soon.

“He’s certainly enjoyed scoring a lot of goals In Portugal, and for Coventry over the past couple of years, and Manchester United have been waiting to have a natural goalscorer up front for a few years now, so he fits the bill in that respect.”

Under the new United manager Amorim, Gyokeres has become one of the most sought-after strikers in Europe.

The Swedish player scored a hat-trick against Manchester City in a Champions League match earlier this month, showcasing his skills to Europe in Amorim’s final home game.
