Breaking News: Enzo Fernandez sends message to Maresca as Chelsea star threatens flop status

Chelsea continued their impressive start to the Premier League season under Enzo Maresca, defeating Leicester 2-1, with Enzo Fernandez emerging as the great personal winner.

With a quarter of an hour left, the Argentine headed in a second goal after setting up Nicolas Jackson’s first. Andre Ayew’s late penalty brought the Foxes within touching distance, and his first Chelsea goal of the season proved to be the game-changing goal.

Enzo’s answer was forceful, since he has been under pressure for a lackluster showing this season. Romeo Lavia has been putting a lot of pressure on him to start.

But with a man-of-the-match performance that displayed attacking skills that had not been as obvious at Chelsea in the past, Fernandez stood up to regain his shirt.

After leaving Benfica in January 2022 for a club-record €121 million, he only managed to score six goals and provide eight assists in his first 75 games. After receiving the captain’s armband at the King Power, he performed his duties with skill and has now contributed three goals in his previous two games.

He easily had his finest performance of the season with a score of 8.5 from FootballCritic. On the first day of the season, he had never managed to score more than 7.0 against Manchester City.

His exceptionally aggressive attacking play, which included three shots and 20 passes in the latter third, served as fuel for this. However, he also won an amazing seven duels and five possessions.

The 23-year-old may now anticipate playing a significant role in Maresca’s ambitions for another extended period of time.

The function of Joao Felix is still unclear.
Joao Felix’s inclusion in the starting lineup did not have the effect Maresca may have hoped for if Enzo had been outstanding against Leicester.

In the first half, the former Atletico Madrid player did provide a number of incisive dribbles, but his overall contribution was once again insufficient. For instance, Noni Madueke gave the right side a much more active attacking outlet, and he was unable to produce a shot on goal.

Joao Felix made his first Premier League appearance since rejoining Chelsea, and with the fierce competition for starting positions, Maresca is under no obligation to start him again.
