Mikel Arteta has alluded to Arsenal’s intentions for the January transfer window.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has said that the club may pursue an acquisition in the January transfer window if a “unbelievable” possibility presents itself. Arsenal’s prominent winger, Bukayo Saka, is expected to be unavailable for “over two months” due to surgery for a damaged hamstring.

Wolves’ attacker Matheus Cunha, having scored 10 goals in 19 Premier League appearances this season, has been recognized as a possible substitute. In response to inquiries regarding potential reinforcements following Saka’s injury, Arteta affirmed that Arsenal is “prepared” to take action.

He stated, “My primary focus is on the resources available within the squad to ensure we are as competitive as possible.”

“We possess numerous options to accomplish that.” Should an extraordinary opportunity arise and the club is amenable, we will need to evaluate it.

In a favorable development for Arsenal, Cunha has evaded an extended suspension following his confrontation with an Ipswich staff member, which may have endangered his prospects for a January transfer had he been sidelined for an extended period.

The Brazilian has received an £80,000 fine and a two-game suspension, but will only be absent for one league match against Nottingham Forest, as the suspension also applies to Wolves’ FA Cup encounter against Bristol City.

Wolves are resolute in retaining the 25-year-old, with Mirror Football indicating that the club is unwilling to trade him during the season unless a significant bid is presented. As Wolves remain precariously positioned above the relegation zone, new manager Vitor Pereira has emphasized the importance of Cunha’s involvement in their quest for survival.

Following Wolves’ triumph against Manchester United on Boxing Day, Pereira commended Cunha on Amazon Prime, stating: “He is a special player.” He possesses the ability to effectuate significant changes in minor aspects. In my view, Matheus Cunha is a player capable of achieving excellent standards in this league.

Pereira remarked on the potential departure of Cunha, stating, “I hope not, I hope not because we require him.” He has arrived with considerable enthusiasm. He expressed that it has been his aspiration for 18 years to come here and manage a team in the Premier League.

“One can observe the influence and vitality he brings, as well as his ability to impart knowledge on the field.” I believe he can assist everyone in demonstrating our capabilities.
