The agent of Liverpool’s Federico Chiesa has refuted speculation over a potential loan departure in the January transfer window, asserting that the attacker would continue at Anfield.

Agent Fali Ramadani has unequivocally said that his client will remain with the team for the duration of the season, despite talk of a potential departure due to insufficient playing time.

Despite having made only one league appearance since his £12 million transfer from Juventus and recently being hindered by injury, Chiesa is set to remain with the Premier League leaders as they pursue their record 20th title.

Napoli, a previously proposed destination for a loan, is reportedly no longer an option, as Ramadani informed the Egyptian outlet 365scores: “Napoli did not engage in contract negotiations with Chiesa from Liverpool during the winter period, and the club has no intention of releasing the player.”

He stated: “The player remains with Liverpool and is pursuing the opportunity to engage in the forthcoming period.” This is what I can presently affirm.

Chiesa, having faced fitness issues, returned to the squad for the latest match against Manchester United, albeit he remained on the bench.

The forward may be considered for a recall when Liverpool visits Tottenham Hotspur for the Carabao Cup semi-final on Wednesday evening. Liverpool manager Arne Slot has previously addressed the talk around Chiesa.

Slot responded to speculation over a potential transfer for Chiesa in January. “That thought has not occurred to me at all,” he stated. “Primarily, he must regain his fitness, after which we can assess his condition.”

“I believe there were also reports in Italy regarding my comments. What I intended to convey about him was that he missed pre-season and participated in low-intensity sessions, as he had to train separately with three or four players apart from the main group.”

Transitioning from there to a high-intensity league and playing style is inherently challenging for all players, particularly following a pre-season of this nature. We were aware of this previously, hence we recognized the necessity to meticulously adapt to his specific requirements.

“However, it has not yet been flawless, so we are endeavoring to identify the optimal method for his development without overburdening him.” It has been challenging thus far, yet I possess complete trust that it will occur. Let us first ensure his fitness.
