According to statements made by Arsène Wenger, the most valued acquisition that he made during his tenure at Arsenal was a purchase worth £3.5 million, and it was not Thierry Henry. During his 22 years with the club, Wenger was responsible for a number of notable transfers; nevertheless, he deemed the signing of Patrick Vieira to be the most crucial of any of them. It was a move that went a long way toward gaining the confidence of the fans. He recalled how, early on in his tenure, his judgments were questioned by detractors, particularly his selection of Vieira, who had not been successful at AC Milan before to joining Arsenal. However, Vieira rapidly established himself as a prominent character in the squad, winning three league titles and captaining the famed Invincibles. He would go on to become the team’s captain.

During an interview that was posted on Mo Farah’s YouTube channel, Wenger mentioned that although there were a number of good signings that took place during his tenure at Arsenal, the arrival of Vieira was particularly significant in establishing his authority, particularly among those who had doubts about his abilities. Additionally, he praised other important players, such as Cesc Fàbregas and Robin van Persie, who made significant contributions to the club but were frequently overlooked by the club’s management.

Following Arsenal’s 2-2 tie with Manchester United at Anfield, Virgil van Dijk of Liverpool quickly responded to Arsenal fans. He reminded them that Arsenal is closer to Liverpool’s level than they realize, but he also held one party responsible for the scenario. This was one of the developments that occurred.

In the meantime, Pep Guardiola of Manchester City expressed his sympathetic feelings for Mikel Arteta in response to the disputed penalty that was awarded against Arsenal. He referred to the judgment made by referee Anthony Taylor as being excessively harsh. Last but not least, Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers blasted both Arteta and Arsenal fans, rejecting their comments about his possible transfer to the club. This was due to the fact that Arteta had previously won the Premier League title with Leicester in 2015.

Webb took action against referee Taylor for what was characterized as an extraordinary decision, and the Football Association made a statement regarding a penalty that was handed to Brighton against Arsenal for a foul on Joao Pedro. The penalty was awarded because of the foul.
