There are rumors that Arsenal are interested in signing Mikkel Damsgaard, a developing star at Brentford, while Tomas Rosicky, a former Gunner, is supposedly in the running to take over for Edu as the sporting director at the Emirates.

Given that Manchester City, the team that often wins the Premier League, has slipped behind Arsenal, this season presents Arsenal with a fantastic opportunity to finally end their quest for Premier League triumph. Arsenal, on the other hand, has been experiencing a couple of disappointing outcomes as of late.

In the league, they were held to a 1-1 draw by Brighton & Hove Albion, and then on Tuesday night, they were defeated by Newcastle United 2-0 at home in the first leg of their League Cup semi-final. Both of these matches took place at the same stadium.

Gabriel Martinelli had a shot that went wide of the post for Arsenal, but it was Alexander Isak and Anthony Gordon who scored goals for Newcastle, putting them in a strong position to advance to the championship game. The subsequent events led to Kai Havertz missing out on a good chance, and Mikel Arteta’s team was left with a significant amount of work to accomplish.

There is a possibility that Arsenal would lose the championship to Liverpool, and it would be even more devastating if they were to forget about winning the League Cup.

Recent performances by Arsenal have not been very impressive, and it appears that this has caused club executives to consider making additions to their roster in January.

It has been reported by the Spanish news outlet Fichajes that the Gunners have expressed their interest in Damsgaard, a playmaker who now plays for Brentford.

There has been a lot of speculation about Arsenal acquiring Bryan Mbeumo over the past few months, but Damsgaard is the new Brentford star who they are looking to get.

While playing for Brentford this season, the central offensive midfielder, who is also capable of playing as a winger on either flank, has been referred to as “outstanding.” It is true that he has contributed to the Bees by scoring three goals and providing seven assists in a total of twenty-four games, and Arsenal has taken notice of this fact.

In an effort to persuade Brentford to sell Damsgaard this month, Arsenal is reportedly “preparing” a “strong bid” to make the offer. It is possible that an agreement will be reached if a proposal with a value of approximately €40 million (£33.1 million or $41.3 million) is presented.
