During Arsenal’s frustrating 1-1 draw on Saturday night, Mikel Arteta expressed his dissatisfaction with the decision to give Brighton’s disputed penalty. The Premier League issued a statement to clarify the judgment, which showed that Arteta was not happy with the decision.

Due to the early goal scored by Ethan Nwaneri, a youthful player, the Gunners were able to take the lead with half an hour remained. However, they were able to regain the lead due to questionable circumstances that occurred on the south coast.

Joao Pedro, the frontman for the Seagulls, was knocked to the ground when William Saliba attempted to clear the ball with his head but only made slight contact with the ball before engaging in a collision with his opponent.

After much debate, referee Anthony Taylor pointed to the spot, and the decision was backed by video assistant referees. The Premier League has provided an explanation as to the reason why Saliba was penalized, which could prove to be expensive for Arsenal in the fight for the title.

According to a statement that was released on the Premier League Match Centre’s X account, the referee’s decision to award a penalty for a foul committed by Saliba on João Pedro was verified and confirmed by the Video Assistant Referee (VAR), who determined that there was sufficient contact for a penalty to be awarded.

In his post-match comments, Pedro, who had scored the equalizer in the match between the two clubs that took place at the Emirates earlier in the season, expressed his opinion that Taylor’s decision was the correct one.

According to what he said, “I was attempting to control the ball when [Saliba] hit me.” I am happy that I was successful. When it comes to my goals and my assistance, I always make an effort to maintain a positive attitude.

“I enjoyed the sensation of scoring, and I’m hoping that I’ll score more in the future.”

As Ian Wright rants, Arteta expresses his disagreement with Taylor’s call.

It should come as no surprise that Arteta had a different perspective on the important occurrence. He believed that Saliba should not have been penalized for the incident because replays revealed that he had made at least limited touch with the ball.

In addition, the manager of the Gunners stated, “I am disappointed because we wanted to win the game as well.” We got off to a strong start in the game with some nice aims and actions. It was obvious to us that this was going to be a difficult game.

The second half was marked by an excessive number of balls that were lost, and we are really dissatisfied with the penalty.

That is something I have never witnessed in my entire life, and Saliba touches the ball. In my opinion, it was not one of them.

We are engaged in a game every three days. On the other hand, I can appreciate how much we want to win, but in terms of the quality of our performance, our consistency, and our ability to do the easy things correctly against a team that is competitive, we did not do enough today.

The result put Arsenal five points behind Liverpool, who are now leading the Premier League, despite the fact that Arne Slot’s team has two games in hand. Gunners veteran Ian Wright, on the other hand, was left furious by Taylor’s decision.

In an interview with Optus Sport, Wright stated, “I don’t know what to believe anymore.” This is completely absurd. On the European continent, we have the worst officials.

“That is not going to be a punishment in any manner, shape, or form. I am unable to make peace with it, and I am unable to comprehend it.

The most recent information regarding Arsenal is that the Gunners are apparently “pushing” to achieve a deal for Matheus Cunha during the January transfer window. This would be a move that would disrupt the plans of some of their competitors. Ferguson’s deal has also been brought back into serious consideration.

In the Premier League at the present, Cunha is one of the most amazing talents that the league has to offer. To say that he is playing for Wolves, who are presently 17th in the league and are in danger of being relegated, would be an understatement. He is not playing like he is.

This season, the Brazilian has played in 19 games in the top division, and he has contributed to over half of his club’s total of 31 goals. He has scored 10 goals and provided four assists.

There are a number of major teams who have shown interest in Cunha, one of which is Arsenal, which, according to Football Insider, is “exploring a January move” for the striker and is presently “pushing” to get the deal done.

Arsenal, on the other hand, is apparently once again in the running to acquire the services of Brighton & Hove Albion’s star player Evan Ferguson; but, in order to do so, they will first have to eliminate two opponents from London.
