Taking a look back at the month of January, it became quite evident that Arsenal had an urgent requirement for a centre striker. Without a dependable striker throughout the holiday season, it is quite likely that they were unable to win the league championship. The match between Arsenal and West Ham took place in December, and despite having thirty shots on goal, Arsenal was unable to score and ended up losing the match. This game brought to light the fact that they were having a hard time turning opportunities into goals at that point in time.

In spite of this, Arsenal’s fortunes began to turn around during the second part of the season, when they were directly competing with Manchester City for the Premier League championship. During their subsequent match against West Ham, they added six goals to their total. Despite the fact that Arsenal ultimately failed to win the championship, they finished the season with 91 goals, making them the second-highest goal-scorers in the league.

As a result of this development, the question arises as to whether or not a new striker is still required. In spite of the fact that the requirement might not be as urgent as it once was, current reports indicate that there have been some fascinating advances.

The search for a new forward involving Arsenal

At first glance, it appeared as though the Slovenian striker Benjamin Sesko was going to sign with Arsenal during the summer session. There was a respectable release clause attached to the RB Leipzig attacker, and it seemed as though Arsenal only needed to pay the amount in order to complete the trade. On the other hand, it is currently anticipated that Sesko will continue to reside in Germany and sign a new deal with Leipzig.

As a direct consequence of this, Arsenal has moved its focus to the Swedish striker Viktor Gyokeres instead. The fact that they are aggressively chasing the Sporting forward is not new; nonetheless, it has been known for some time that they are interested in him. According to reports, Gyokeres is “on the verge” of joining Arsenal, which appears to indicate that the team is getting closer and closer to reaching a deal to seal his signature.
