“I will not endure this behaviour from him and his associates.”Angry Ange Postecoglou criticises his £38M star for a ‘poor’ performance against a ‘weak’ Arsenal.

Ange Postecoglou criticises his Tottenham teammates following the ‘unacceptable’ defeat to Arsenal.

Ange Postecoglou stated that his Tottenham team was ‘nowhere near adequate’ in their 2-1 loss to Arsenal on Wednesday night.

The Spurs initially led in the first half due to a deflected strike from Son Heung-min, although this occurred against the flow of the game, and the Gunners subsequently took the lead before halftime.

Dominic Solanke inadvertently scored an own goal in the 40th minute, as a header from Gabriel, following a corner, deflected off the striker and into the net.

Four minutes later, Leandro Trossard scored, giving Arsenal the lead, which they maintained until the final whistle.

Postecoglou took a gamble at half-time, substituting James Maddison and Brennan Johnson for Pape Sarr and Yves Bissouma to implement an aggressive attacking formation.

Tottenham shown improvement in that configuration, however they still failed to demonstrate significant incisiveness, as Arsenal custodian David Raya was little challenged.

Following an 11th defeat of the Premier League season, the Spurs manager expressed outrage at the ‘unacceptable’ performance of his team.

“Nowhere near satisfactory, particularly in the first half,” the Australian stated to TNT Sports. We exhibited excessive passivity. We permitted Arsenal to control the match. We persevered, but that was our sole activity. The second half was somewhat improved, however still far from satisfactory. Intolerable.

Ultimately, the obligation rests with me and the manner in which we train the athletes. Their mentality upon entering the game was not our intention from the outset. The second half was marginally improved; but, the first half did not meet the desired standard.

“I am concerned about our football performance, and we did not approach the required standards today.”

Following Tottenham’s placement at 13th in the Premier League standings following their recent loss, Postecoglou was enquired about his strategies for the upcoming match against Everton on Sunday.

No alternative. “Return to your duties and ready yourself for a challenging match,” he stated. “Undoubtedly, defeats cause me pain.” Unacceptable. Excessive losses this year. We have relinquished an excessive number of games. It must cease.

There is no alternative perspective. Ceasing now renders all effort futile, yet it must come to an end. This weekend, we have a significant match against Everton. Our concentration is on the present; we will assess subsequent developments thereafter.

Gunners manager Mikel Arteta exhibited a markedly different demeanour, elated by his players’ performance in a victory that positions them four points behind league leaders Liverpool.

Exceptional today. From the outset, we were fully engaged and exceedingly intense. We played with the explicit intention to inflict harm upon them. He stated, “We established an extraordinary atmosphere.”

We recognise the significance of the game. It is a present that might greatly please the supporters.

The attitude with which we played, devoid of self-pity, was exceptional.
