Arsenal is purportedly contemplating a proposal for a striker this summer; however, he has been excluded from his team’s most recent preseason friendly squad.

Currently, it appears that Arsenal is on the brink of finalising a deal to recruit Riccardo Calafiori, a signing that is expected to be announced in the early part of the week.

The Italian has been acquired by Arsenal, and it is anticipated that they will make three additional acquisitions. This is due to the fact that there is still much work to be done for Edu and his team.

Arsenal will also seek to recruit a new forward in addition to acquiring a new number eight to enhance the depth of Mikel Arteta’s midfield.

Arsenal’s primary objective was to secure Nico Williams; however, it appears that the Spaniard will ultimately opt for either Barcelona or Paris Saint-Germain this summer.

Williams has recently instructed his agent to cease negotiations with Premier League teams, suggesting that he is not particularly interested in joining Arsenal.

However, Italian sources have expressed the possibility that Arsenal may make a late bid for Victor Osimhen, who is free to depart Napoli, despite the disappointment.

Victor Osimhen, who is a target for Arsenal, has been omitted from Napoli’s preseason match.
It is now evident that Osimhen has no future at the Italian team, following Antonio Conte’s appointment as the new manager of Napoli.

Romelu Lukaku is reportedly a player that Conte is interested in signing as soon as Osimhen is sold. He is eager to resolve this situation expeditiously.

As a consequence, Osimhen, who was valued at £85 million, was not even included in Napoli’s substitute for their pre-season friendly against Egnatia on Sunday evening.

On X, journalist Fabrizio Romano reiterated the fact that Osimhen wishes to depart the club.

Romano referenced Chelsea and PSG in his update; however, it appears that Arsenal is also contemplating an audacious move and is also in the wings.

Certainly, many Arsenal supporters would like to bring in a game-changer such as Osimhen this summer.

It is possible that the exceptional condition in which Gabriel Jesus has returned for Arsenal’s preseason could be a factor in the recruitment of a new striker; however, many will still desire to contribute goals.

Perhaps Jesus could be regarded as a winger in the upcoming season, a player who is proficient on both flanks, if the likes of Reiss Nelson depart Arsenal.
