Arsenal fans fear international break curse has struck again amid Bukayo Saka injury blow

Arsenal fans are once again cursing the international break after seeing Bukayo Saka stagger off injured for England last night.

The in-form winger has been in inspiring form for his team this season, but he now faces a race against time to be ready for the Gunners’ next game against Bournemouth a week from Saturday.

Saka will get tests today for what seems to be a hamstring issue. The 23-year-old was spotted holding his right leg just before he was replaced in the 51st minute.

After the game, interim England manager Lee Carsley stated, ‘He’s being examined.

“In the build-up to the first goal, you could see he felt something in his leg.”

Arsenal supporters are now awaiting word on whether their star player will be out for a prolonged length of time.

Indeed, it is a case of déjà vu for anxious fans, who experienced a similar predicament in September when skipper Martin Odegaard suffered ankle ligament injury while playing for Norway.

“Saka down as well after an international break,” claimed one dissatisfied Gooner. ‘Totally destroys the genuine football.’

Another Arsenal supporter said, ‘Oh man, how I despise international football. And Saka’s likely injury is exacerbating the situation this morning.

A third said, ‘Saka hurt, well if there was ever a cause to detest the international break besides the terrible football, it’s this.’

Odegaard, meantime, is making solid progress in his recuperation, and it is believed that he will be returning within the next month.

Prior to last weekend’s victory over Southampton, he stated: ‘In the last week or so, I’ve made very fantastic progress. I’m growing better by the day and feel like things are going great.

When you feel like things are progressing, it motivates you to do more and work more.

Today is our last game before another international break, so I’ll have more time to focus on the recovery. Hopefully, it won’t be much longer—I believe we’ll know more as soon as I walk out on the training grounds and see how my ankle reacts.

‘At the moment, it’s going well and looks better than we expected, but we still have to take each day as it comes.

‘Anyway, it appears that the team doesn’t really need me right now! We’ve been playing really well lately, and we achieved another nice result against PSG on Tuesday.
