Following an examination in Athens, George Baldock was found dead at his Greek property on Wednesday night. A post-mortem revealed that he had drowned.

After a post-mortem in Greece, George Baldock’s cause of death was determined to be “drowning in water”.

The 31-year-old’s body was discovered on Wednesday night in his villa’s swimming pool. Following the completion of a post-mortem examination in Athens, the news was revealed by the Athens-based magazine Kathimerini. It was estimated that Baldock had been deceased for five hours prior to his discovery.

It was also mentioned that it will take’several days’ for the results of toxicology tests that were not completed during the autopsy to be obtained, including if alcohol was in his system when he passed away. After his partner, who was in the UK, apparently raised the alarm because she was having trouble getting in touch with him, Baldock was discovered unconscious in his pool.

“A forensic pathologist was called to the scene and examined the body with no evidence of criminal activity,” a spokesman for the Hellenic Police in Greece stated. The police conducted a negative search of the home in an attempt to find any indications of a break-in.

Additionally, it has been stated that authorities are reviewing security footage from the home’s entry to make sure no one entered the premises in the hours prior to or following his passing.

The news shocked Baldock’s family, who released the following statement: “We can announce that George has regrettably died away. Our family is shocked by this horrible loss. We kindly request that the media henceforth respect our right to privacy.
