Arsenal supporters have patiently for substantial transfer rumours to eventually emerge.

As August approaches, Arsenal has not yet completed the signing of a senior player, although it appears that this will happen very soon.

Tommy Setford, a custodian who has represented England at the young level, just transferred from Ajax to Arsenal. However, he will first be placed in the Hale End setup.

Nevertheless, the current situation has accelerated, and Fabrizio Romano has ultimately provided the long-awaited confirmation that many Arsenal supporters have been anticipating.

A potential transfer of Riccardo Calafiori to Arsenal is imminent.
Riccardo Calafiori, an Italian national team defender, appears to be on the verge of transferring from Bologna to Arsenal.

David Ornstein announced on Wednesday afternoon that Arsenal had finalised all agreements for a deal with Calafiori, describing it as “essentially done”.

Romano then offered an update soon after Ornstein’s statement, indicating that only formal measures have to be taken before the resolution is complete, and then the process will commence.

On Wednesday evening, the transfer insider has officially announced that the transfer of Calafiori to Arsenal is now confirmed.

Romano has stated that Bologna and Arsenal have initiated the process of exchanging documents, and the necessary arrangements have also been made between the Italians and FC Basel.

According to talkSPORT, the Swiss team, from which Calafiori moved to Bologna last summer, is expected to get 50 percent of the earnings generated from the trade.

Calafiori is poised to finalise a five-year agreement with Arsenal, with no provision for an extension, for a net salary of €4 million per season.

Romano decided that the medical situation in the US has been resolved and the story has been verified.

Leonardo Bonucci expresses his opinion on Calafiori’s departure from Italy to join Arsenal.
It appears that the Riccardo Calafiori transfer story is reaching its conclusion. Unless there are any unexpected last-minute changes, the Italy national team player will be joining the north London team and wearing their red and white colours.

Arsenal’s defensive lineup was already robust before acquiring the Bologna player. However, with this addition, they now perhaps own the most formidable defensive structure in the Premier League, if not in all of Europe.

The transfer of Calafiori from Serie A to the English Premier League is seen as a gain for Arsenal and the English top flight, but a loss for Serie A. Italy veteran Leonardo Bonucci expressed his disappointment with Calafiori’s decision to leave the Italian top flight for England.

When asked about Calafiori’s transfer to Arsenal, Bonucci responded to Sky Sport Italia by saying: “Calafiori?” I apologise about the transfer. I would have preferred to witness his presence at Juventus.

“He is a unique defender compared to our usual standards.” He exhibits exceptional skills, possesses a distinct character, and seamlessly integrates into the environment.

“We are sending abroad an exceptional player who will serve as a benchmark for the national team for the next 15 years.”
