The real transfer rumours that Arsenal supporters have been waiting for a long time have finally materialised.

The Gunners have not yet signed a senior player, but that is expected to change very shortly as August approaches.

Tommy Setford, an England youth international custodian, moved from Ajax to Arsenal earlier this month, but he will start out in the Hale End lineup.

But now that things are moving more quickly, Fabrizio Romano has given the much-needed “here we go” that many Gunners supporters have been waiting for.

Riccardo Calafiori is heading to Arsenal.
Riccardo Calafiori, an Italy international defender, is the player in question. It appears that he will be moving from Bologna to Arsenal.

David Ornstein announced on Wednesday afternoon that Arsenal had reached a deal with Calafiori and that it was “essentially done.”

Shortly after Ornstein’s message, Romano updated everyone, adding, “formal steps are only left but all being resolved, then… here we go.”

Finally, on Wednesday night, the transfer source said, “here we go,” regarding Calafiori’s move to Arsenal.

According to Romano, FC Basel and the Italians have settled everything out, and Bologna and Arsenal have begun exchanging documents.

According to talkSPORT, the Swiss team, who Calafiori traded for Bologna last summer, will supposedly get half of the transfer’s earnings.

Calafiori is expected to sign a contract with Arsenal for €4 million in net salary each season for a five-year tenure that does not include an extension option.

Romano ended, “Medical in the US, deal done, and story confirmed.”

Regarding Calafiori departing Italy to join Arsenal, Leonardo Bonucci expresses his feelings clearly.
Thus, it appears that the tale of the Riccardo Calafiori transfer is drawing to a close. The Italy international will be playing in the red and white of north London, barring any unexpected late twists.

Even though Arsenal had a good defence before bringing in the Bologna player, they might now have the best defensive line in the Premier League, if not all of Europe.

Serie A will lose out to the Gunners and the English premier league as a whole, as Italy’s legendary player Leonardo Bonucci laments Calafiori’s decision to leave the Italian league for England.

Regarding Calafiori and his transfer to Arsenal, Bonucci stated in an interview with Sky Sport Italia: “Calafiori? About his transfer, I apologise. I hope to see him play for Juventus.

He’s a defender who differs slightly from the ones we usually see. He fits in, plays, and has a personality.

“We’re sending a fantastic player abroad who will lead the national team for the next fifteen years.”
