Breaking News: Chelsea has finally completed £16million offer for top Enzo Maresca target – DONE DEAL

According to reports, Chelsea has made an initial offer for Villarreal goalkeeper Filip Jorgensen for roughly €20 million (£16.8 million).

According to a rumour from last week, Chelsea had revised their plans to sign a new custodian because Enzo Maresca wanted a No. 1 who could pass well and be at ease in possession.

Although Robert Sanchez is starting for the new Blues manager, backup Djordje Petrovic is not known for those attributes and is expected to leave Stamford Bridge after just one season.

It seems Maresca has found his guy. Maresca wants a goalie who can compete with Sanchez for the starting position.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Jorgensen, who is eager to move to West London and was reportedly on the manager’s shortlist, has received an initial offer from Chelsea.

The Dane, who attended Villarreal’s academy, didn’t become the team’s first choice keeper until the previous campaign, when he gave up 64 goals in 37 appearances while maintaining six clean sheets.

Even though he is only 22 years old, he has already demonstrated a lot of promise. However, because he still has five years left on his contract, Villarreal may reject Chelsea’s offer, especially as it is significantly less than the estimated £38 million release clause.

The Blues have a shortlist of players, but they have decided against moving for James Trafford of Burnley and Aaron Ramsdale of Arsenal.

Bento, a Brazilian international, and Everton’s Jordan Pickford, another English keeper, have also been mentioned.

Sanchez only paid £25 million to join Chelsea from Brighton last summer, but he was never able to establish himself as the team’s starting goalie over the long term.

In his first season, the 26-year-old gave up 30 goals in 21 games while only managing five clean sheets. Since the beginning of the year, he has hardly played due to a knee injury that forced him to give up his spot to Petrovic.

Having already spent about £74 million on Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Omari Kellyman, Renato Veiga, Caleb Wiley, Marc Guiu, and Tosin Adarabioyo, Maresca has been active in the transfer market this summer.
